Electional Astrology addresses the age-old challenge of creating charts for inceptions, such as the start of an activity or an entity (like a corporation). Electional is a popular request among astrology clients who often ask for dates and times to start a business, sell a property or car, start a job, a marriage, or an educational program. In this groundbreaking work, Dr. Lehman presents the traditional astrological methods for these and many types of events, fully updated to modern life. Find out how to use the ancient rules for warfare to pick a time for a divorce, a strike, or a lockout. Explore events as diverse as running in a marathon, picking a time to execute a medical power of attorney, or filing one's taxes. This comprehensive book presents a full history, as well as over 113 completed examples detailing how electional astrology charts work. These methods do not require prior knowledge of classical astrology, although it would be helpful.

The aim of this book is to apply the principles of stellar astrology to the field of medical astrology, in order to have a clearer picture, complete and "iconic" (thanks to the descriptive role of celestial images) of astrological factors that can lead to serious diseases. In fact, if we disregard the important role played by constellations, asterisms and stars in this area, it is very hard, nearly impossible, to predict whether certain critical factors of the birth chart will manifest as diseases or otherwise, and especially to predict whether these diseases will be serious. And this is because, as always in astrology, serious events are always signaled by a redundancy of astrological factors at various levels.I refer in particular to the role of celestial images and of the various parts composing them (which in most cases also correspond to various parts of the human body), the role of some stars (not only those of azemena), the importance in these analyses of the heliacal phases of stars and planets and the paran that accompany them, the parallels of declination between planets and between stars and planets, and other considerations that we expose in the following pages. I dedicate a great deal of space to the exposition of important principles of medical elective astrology. I refer both to those we have inherited from the astrological tradition and to the "new" ones that can be deduced on the one hand from the general principles of stellar astrology, and on the other hand from the concrete analysis of the birth charts of people who have had serious health problems (both fatal and healing cases) and of the great doctors who have dedicated their lives to the cure of diseases and the research of vaccines that have saved millions of lives.

This short volume condenses the Author's 42 year-long experience in the field of Elective Astrology, meaning by this that branch of Astrology aimed at choosing the best moment to baptize – in an astrological sense – the birth of a new business, or the living in a new house, or the beginning of a new love affair, or the signing of a contract before a notary, or the start in a good way of anything we care about. This book was published for the first time in Italy in 1988 and re-published in the same place in 2002. However, the Author has saved only about ten pages of that book because in all these years he has realised that he was making some methodological mistakes that later he has been able to correct through a long experience of direct consultations, having thousands of people asking him for the right day and hour in which they could give birth to something. For this reason the book is completely different from the Italian edition and he purposefully wanted to stop before he reached one hundred pages because he followed that conviction of his – which has always been much appreciated by his readers – that an example is worth one thousand words. The Author has thus tried to eliminate any repetition, addressing directly the core of practical problems that are useful for students in Astrology as well as for his colleagues.

There are large number of books available in the public domain which talks about various remedial methods that could be followed. Also there are groups of people who talk about the benefits of yoga, mantra, yantra and allied topics, each of which has a scientific logic as is the case with the manuscripts left behind by the Rishis. As we all are aware, there are planets which by their interaction, govern our destiny. My belief, developed during the study of this science, is that destiny depends on four major things in equal proportion. These are; our previous karma, the place where we are staying, the people with whom we interact and our own efforts. These are the four parameters and within each comes the important of a large gamut of activities. There is a complex equation that is a matter of study and research which, like any other science, gets deciphered and known. I therefore believe that chart at the time of birth, coupled with the year’s horoscope and the time at which the query is being asked, have to be co-related and a vector from them gives the correct analysis of the query. Similarly, as each planet is associated with a colour and the colours are in turn related to vibrations – a complex phenomenon by itself; the various mantras, colour therapy and other remedies have relevance.

“Signs and symbols rule the world, not words nor laws” (Confucius) In the first part, a powerful forecasting technique is exposed, applicable both to world astrology and to natal charts. This too is a new and at the same time traditional technique: to elaborate it, I started from the most ancient techniques of stellar astrology, already known and used by the Egyptians, namely the heliacal phases and the paranatellonta. My way of proceeding is always the same: we take the best of tradition and develop it, so as to enable it to express its full potential. In the second part we focus on the particular importance of the stars which rise or set heliacally, cosmically or achronically on the day of the spring Equinox or on the days around it. As we’ll see, even the stars in paran with the equinoctial Sun have greater strenght. It will be shown how these stars influence the characteristics and events of an epoch. In the third part we talk about some stellar influences that mark the great stages of human history and the epochal changes. Among these there is not only the change of precessional era, but also the change of the polar star and the stars and constellations which reach the points of minimum and maximum declination over the millennia. In particular, we focus on some possible ways of calculating the precessional eras based on the constellations, and not on the zodiac signs. We will see that a new age takes place by stages, and therefore these methods are not mutually exclusive, as each can lead us to dates that mark periods in which some characteristics and events of the new age become more evident. We will verify this by studying the start dates and events of the age of Aries, Pisces, and especially Aquarius ... The fourth part is focused on a technique for locating world events, based on the stars and constellations that rule a certain place, but also on the planets. It is a new technique that I have recently developed, but always using traditional principles and techniques. I have applied it to dozens of world events with excellent results. Obviously, first of all, we will explain how to identify stars, constellations, signs and planets which are in sympathy with a certain nation, and so rule it.

The Foundation for the Study of Cycles reports that they have identified over 4000 separate cycles that affect nature, culture, business and productivity. My book examines a few very long-term cycles that influence all of us for decades in subtle and profound ways. When cycles come to completion a period of disorder results. The monetary and political doctrines that railroaded the United States into world affairs, wars and global central banking a century ago are coming to the end of a cyclical line. The public at large can sense the end is coming and a psychological crisis is building. This book explains why it’s happening and why happening now. It also spells out some likely future scenarios and ways to cope.

Two opposing views of the future in the Middle Ages dominate recent historical scholarship. According to one opinion, medieval societies were expecting the near end of the world and therefore had no concept of the future. According to the other opinion, the expectation of the near end created a drive to change the world for the better and thus for innovation. Close inspection of the history of prognostication reveals the continuous attempts and multifold methods to recognize and interpret God’s will, the prodigies of nature, and the patterns of time. That proves, on the one hand, the constant human uncertainty facing the contingencies of the future. On the other hand, it demonstrates the firm believe during the Middle Ages in a future which could be shaped and even manipulated. The handbook provides the first overview of current historical research on medieval prognostication. It considers the entangled influences and transmissions between Christian, Jewish, Islamic, and non-monotheistic societies during the period from a wide range of perspectives. An international team of 63 renowned authors from about a dozen different academic disciplines contributed to this comprehensive overview.

Investigates the professional practices of astrologers in urban India and their popularity among the educated middle and upper classes. Astrologers play an important role in Indian society, but there are very few studies on their social identity and professional practices. Based on extensive fieldwork carried out in the city of Banaras, Words of Destiny shows how the Brahmanical scholarly tradition of astral sciences (jyotiḥśāstra) described in Sanskrit literature and taught at universities has been adapted and reformulated to meet the needs and questions of educated middle and upper classes in urban India: How to get a career promotion? How to choose the most suitable field of study for children? When is the best moment to move into a new house? The study of astrology challenges ready-made assumptions about the boundaries between “science” and “superstition,” “rationality” and “magic.” Rather than judging the validity of astrology as a knowledge system, Caterina Guenzi explores astrological counseling as a social practice and how it “works from within” for both astrologers and their clients. She examines the points of view of those who use astrology either as a way of earning their living or as a means through which to solve problems and make decisions, concluding that, because astrology combines mathematical calculations and astronomical observations with ritual practices, it provides educated urban families with an idiom through which modern science and devotional Hinduism can be subsumed. Caterina Guenzi is Associate Professor at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) and member of the Center for South Asian Studies in Paris. Her previous books are available in their French editions.

Astrology is a great science based on sound principles and theory of karma through cycles of rebirth. A horoscope is basically a map of zodiac indicating position of planets in various signs/ Nakshatra at the time and place of birth. The delineation of a chart is the science and art of deciphering it as per the knowledge, intuition of the astrologer and divine help available to him. Therefore the first requisite is to have sound knowledge of nature and characteristics of houses, signs, Nakshatra and planets and their inter-relation. Next comes the basic tools like dasha, transit, yoga and divisional chart and their application in delineating a horoscope. Lagna is the single most important factor in delineating a horoscope. It is the very being of the native, his élan vital & basic potential. Unless the seed of a specific quality or event is contained in this basic potential, other planetary indications will not find suitable opportunities for manifestation. Lagna also determines the numbering of houses with lagna being the first. With the change in lagna, the significations of any planet will change drastically, as his house & lordship changes, although the sign & constellation of the planet remain unchanged.
