Catching the Dream is a collection of poems written by 14 poets from all over the world. These poets all share a common trait: they fell in love with Susan Boyle´s voice and personality and were inspired enough to join a fan site (for the first time ever for most of them) where they discovered each other and enjoyed the pleasures of cyber-creation and communication. Long-time lovers of words and word games, they naturally expressed the joy and wonderment they felt through poetry. Their common adventure started with playing a word tag game of having the "Last Word." As they shared thoughts and feelings, experimenting different poetic styles, they gained trust with each other and joined on the same journey -- ultimately taking the form of individual spiritual quests into the common humanity that unites us all. Calling themselves the Golden Girls, these poets reflect the uniqueness and preciousness of gold, as well as its overtones of age, ripeness and wisdom. Each poet has a distinctive voice but together they create a continuous chant, their voices blending to sing a Hymn to Life. The 211 poems were edited and arranged by Joyce W. Leo and Nathalie Roy.

"A Bird does not fly because it has wings; it has wings because it flies" Robert Ardrey There are people who can live without challenging journeys, and there are people who cannot. I cannot. This is our story of a bicycle journey across the United States, coast to coast. Starting in Florence, Oregon, August 4, 1985, we traveled 3,960 miles in two months by way of The TransAmerica Trail, to Yorktown, Virginia. My desire to ride a bicycle across America began as a faint wish, a slight uplift of warm hope, a lingering excitement. It slowly grew into a persistent dream. This dream drew energy from the Bicentennial year of 1976 and became an exciting obsession. That's when I christened it a sacred adventure, after which I invited Doris to share the adventure. She accepted and volunteered to be my backup support. We caught Godlike distances punctuated by challenging ascents and descents through vast mountain ranges. Sometimes our adventure was a slow trip through forests and high deserts with landscapes of Edenic beauty. Other times it was a white knuckle plunge down steep mountains and through cascading traffic and chasing dogs. Time stood still. Time flew.

Dream Catching Canada is a creative, artistic work of historical fiction that is sure to cause the reader to look at Canada and its relationship with First Nations in a new light. Raw and politically incorrect at times the story that unfolds is how colonies can act like colonizers, and how the answer to a respectful and balanced relationship with Indigenous people in Canada requires shedding colonialism in all of its forms. It calls for the end of Empire and a new way in which power can be used so that fear and conflict are left behind on a new bold path leading into the future.

In a rare memoir about the Negro Leagues and its celebrated players, Frazier "Slow" Robinson offers an inspiring and often entertaining view of the black baseball diamond through a catcher's mask. In 1939, at the age of 29—after playing professional baseball for twelve years—Frazier Robinson caught the legendary Satchel Paige in barnstorming games from New Orleans to Walla Walla. Robinson played several more seasons in the Negro Leagues before finishing his career in Canada. While his career was a solid one, it was less spectacular than that of his friend and Hall-of-Famer, Satchel Paige, and so more typical of the experience of most Negro Leaguers. Richly embroidered with the threads of black society and of life as a black athlete in a racially divided nation, Robinson recounts his long career with the skill and ease of a natural storyteller. He covers, in remarkable detail, the personal perspective of the men, the teams, and the times that shaped this uniquely American subculture. From playing catcher for obscure industrial teams to barnstorming with Satchel Paige, he chronologically traces his nationwide path through the 1920s, '30s, '40s, and early '50s. The Foreword by John "Buck" O'Neil and Introduction by Gerald Early place Robinson squarely in the world of sports, African American culture, and American history.
