This book is apparently for real. In the introduction it is mentioned that we will talk about all the ugliest songs, but... surprise! In the book there are only several lovely blank pages with the inscription: "Error 404: No song found. It was impossible to find any ugly songs. All the songs by Imagine Dragons are amazing." With the exception of the last page... Such a fair amount of irony, to use this book as a gift or instead as a simple greeting card. Since the pages are almost completely empty, the booklet is also a nice notebook to write down notes.

Two years since his last volume of writings (No New Notifications) Bennyness returns with just as much cynicism, confusion, hope and self-deprecation as before. However, this time there is a darkness beginning to break through as Bennyness lives two years of his life moving houses, fighting the mumps, misplacing his affection again, enjoying (and sometimes not enjoying) music, being embarrassed by his sister and wishing for a simpler life.

Everyone knows his or her favourite colour, the foods we most enjoy, and which season of The Sopranos deserves the most stars on Netflix. But what does it really mean when we like something? How do we decide what's good? Is it something biological? What is the role of our personal experiences in shaping our tastes? And how do businesses make use of this information? Comprehensively researched and singularly insightful, You May Also Like delves deep into psychology, marketing and neuroscience to answer these complex and fascinating questions. From the tangled underpinnings of our food choices, to the discrete dynamics of the pop charts and our playlists, to our non-stop procession of 'thumbs' and 'likes' and 'stars,' to our insecurity before unfamiliar works of art, the book explores how we form our preferences - and how they shape us. It explains how difficult it is, even for experts, to pinpoint exactly what makes something good or enjoyable, and how the success of companies like Netflix, Spotify and Yelp! depends on the complicated task of predicting what we will enjoy. Like Traffic, this book takes us on a fascinating and consistently surprising intellectual journey that helps us better understand how we perceive and appreciate the world around us.

The Second Edition of PDC Darts covers the same details as the original book with current details of tournament winners and runners up on the PDC (Professional Darts Corporation) Tour. Besides the tournament results, analysis of the tournament history is provided. Provides details of players that have thrown the perfect leg, the highest average achieved during the history of the tournament, how many times a player has appeared in the final, and how many times a player has won the tournament. Majority of tournaments were cancelled due to the Coronavirus Pandemic in 2020. To keep the tour viable, there were three Home Tour Championships staged until players could attend events in person. The book is to provide the reader and dart enthusiast more information on publications, links to web sites of dart manufacturers, County Darts Organisations, Professional Bodies and Organisations, dart stores, and Country Darts Organisations. This is not a comprehensive list but it begins the work of collating details of darts into one place instead of being scattered around the World Wide Web across many sites and publications. Disclaimer: Links to dart stores is for informational purposes. I have not been contacted by any of the stores to advertise. When I come across a dart store and the link is correct, I have included in list for dart enthusiasts. I hope you enjoy the book.

Marcus Berkmann was for many years the pop critic of the Spectator, waiting like most freelances to get fired. He's also the author of the bestselling Berkmann's Cricket Miscellany, concentrating on the ridiculous true stories and the weird characters of that most eccentric of sports. Here he combines the two, in a wildly entertaining ride through the galloping absurdities of pop, from Elvis Presley's real hair colour, through Janet Jackson's more intimate piercings, to Courtney Love's hatred of cheese. Why does Bono always wear sunglasses? Did Ozzy Osbourne really urinate on the Alamo? What actually happened at Keith Moon's 21st birthday party at the Holiday Inn in Flint, Michigan? There's sex, there's drugs, there's violence, there's even a little rock 'n' roll from time to time. But mainly there are vital questions, now finally answered. Which notable guitarist has unfeasibly tiny hands? Which Britpop star was forced to wear lederhosen as a child? Who said, 'The majority of pop stars are compete idiots in every respect'? And was she wrong?

"Michael Spitzer has pulled off the impossible: a Guns, Germs and Steel for music." --Daniel Levitin A colossal history spanning cultures, time, and space to explore the vibrant relationship between music and the human species. 165 million years ago saw the birth of rhythm. 66 million years ago was the first melody. 40 thousand years ago Homo sapiens created the first musical instrument. Today music fills our lives. How we have created, performed and listened to this music throughout history has defined what our species is and how we understand who we are. Yet music is an overlooked part of our origin story. The Musical Human takes us on an exhilarating journey across the ages – from Bach to BTS and back – to explore the vibrant relationship between music and the human species. With insights from a wealth of disciplines, world-leading musicologist Michael Spitzer renders a global history of music on the widest possible canvas, looking at music in our everyday lives; music in world history; and music in evolution, from insects to apes, humans to AI. Through this journey we begin to understand how music is central to the distinctly human experiences of cognition, feeling and even biology, both widening and closing the evolutionary gaps between ourselves and animals in surprising ways. The Musical Human boldly puts the case that music is the most important thing we ever did; it is a fundamental part of what makes us human.

One night can change forever... When a single night with a handsome stranger turned my world upside down, I found myself feeling things that I hadn’t felt in a very long time, including insecurities, courtesy of a verbally abusive ex-husband. I fought my way back from the shell of the person I was and I wasn’t ready to give up on love. Not yet. Luke was gorgeous, thoughtful and completely unlike anyone I’d ever met. But as a famous Hollywood actor, he was also way out of my league, no matter how hard he tried to convince me otherwise. His career took him from coast to coast and I lived in a small town somewhere in between. He was a man on the rise, whose work ruled his life and I was a single mom with a son to raise. The more time we spent together, the more the line between our two worlds faded. The harder we fell I began to wonder, if two people collided by fate and pushed apart by distance could build a love that would last? I knew our life wouldn’t be easy, but I never thought our love would put us in danger. Could we really overcome everything standing in our way, and finally get the fairytale ending we deserved? If you love slow burn, emotionally heartfelt, swoon-worthy romance, then you’ll love Harlow Layne’s sizzling Fairlane series. The series has crossover characters from each novel. It is not required to read the books in order, but it is recommended to enhance the reading experience.

Have we really heard the message of Colossians? Is this New Testament book just another religious text whose pretext is an ideological grab for dominating power? Reading Colossians in context, ancient and contemporary, can perhaps give us new ears to hear. In this innovative and refreshing book Brian J. Walsh and Sylvia C. Keesmaat explain our own sociocultural context to then help us get into the world of the New Testament and get a sense of the power of the gospel as it addressed those who lived in Colossae two thousand years ago. Their reading presents us with a radical challenge from the apostle Paul for today. Drawing together biblical scholarship with a passion for authentic lives that embody the gospel, this groundbreaking interpretation of Colossians provides us with tools to subvert the empire of our own context in a way that acknowledges the transforming power of Jesus Christ.
